Representatives of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, Ukrainian Universities and companies, as well as the Federation of Employers have been presented with variation of approached to dual education organization as part of vocational training, as well as higher education, in both state and private educational establishments.
Legislation, key objectives, cooperation models of parties in dual education system, benefits for companies and students and many other topics have been discussed by the participants with the representatives of the Chambers, Employer organizations, the Regional Ministry of Education, representatives of companies, teachers and dual students. The group visited Nordacademy, the University of Hamburg-Harburg, the headquarters and productions sights of the companies STILL and Autoliv.
The in-depth understanding of the German example has been viewed by the participants as a solid ground for finding ways for dual education introduction in Ukraine. Since 2013 Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Ukrainian Marketing Association have been working on the project “Introduction of dual education into practices of Ukrainian Universities aimed at increasing competitiveness of graduates in the labor market”. Due to FES-Ukraine contribution and cooperation with a network of partners, the Dual Education Concept had been drafted and adopted on 26 January 2018 by the Collegium of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The legislation framework development is the next step in laying grounds for the full-scale dual education introduction into not only Ukrainian vocational training but higher education as well.
